Behind the Scenes of “Genesis”

This is the behind the scenes documentary about the Panasonic GH3 “Genesis” short film shoot. This BTS production was shot on the Panasonic GH2 Camera using the 14-140mm OIS Micro Four Thirds lens. The night time shots in downtown Los Angeles were shot on Philip’s Voigtlander Nokton 25mm F0.95, which is a beautiful lens. It was mostly handheld and using a Zacuto DSLR baseplate with small Zamerican arm as a grip handle. Other shots were using a Manfrotto mono pod. The goal for this shoot was to be very mobile and I had to pre-empt a lot of the action that I needed to cover, so minimal rigging, small and light was the best option.
The audio was captured using a Rode Video mic pro mounted on the top of the GH2. This mic was the perfect choice for this job as I had no sound operator and the quality from this mic was fantastic for this run n gun shoot.
Edited in Final Cut Pro 7 and graded with Magic Bullet Colorista II.
Thanks to Mark Brandis at ism studios for the sound mix.
